Precious Onyinyechi Worgu, Esq. is a Nigerian legal practitioner and Senior Associate at Lyons & Eagles Attorneys, with experience spanning corporate and commercial law, real estate and property law, regulatory compliance, transactional advisory, dispute resolution and litigation.
She has advised Nigerian and international clients on a broad range of legal and commercial matters, with particular experience in property transactions, corporate structuring, regulatory approvals, commercial documentation, contract drafting and negotiation, and transactional advisory.
Precious obtained her Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) from Rivers State University, Port Harcourt, in 2019 and subsequently obtained her Barrister-at-Law (B.L.) qualification from the Nigerian Law School, Enugu Campus, in 2021, following which she was called to the Nigerian Bar.
She commenced her professional legal practice at Jallo & Co. (Zaitun Chambers), Abuja, where she developed practical experience in litigation, dispute resolution, debt recovery, intellectual property, corporate documentation and property-related matters.
She subsequently practised as a Senior Legal Associate at Ateef Law Firm, Abuja, where she expanded her experience in real estate transactions, corporate and commercial advisory, regulatory compliance and cross-border transactions.
Precious has developed notable experience in real estate and property transactions, including advising on land acquisition, property transfers, title verification and perfection, joint venture arrangements and land development projects. Her work in this area involves assisting clients in understanding the legal, regulatory and transactional implications of property acquisitions and developments and ensuring that transactions are appropriately structured and documented.
Her transactional experience includes the drafting and negotiation of a wide range of commercial and property-related instruments, including Deeds of Assignment, Tenancy Agreements, Powers of Attorney, Joint Venture Agreements, Memoranda of Understanding, Memoranda of Agreement, Non-Disclosure Agreements, Non-Circumvention Agreements and Non-Compete Agreements.
In the area of corporate and commercial advisory, Precious has advised on corporate structuring, incorporation, post-incorporation matters, commercial arrangements, corporate governance and regulatory requirements. Her experience includes engagements involving the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC), Special Control Unit Against Money Laundering (SCUML), tax and regulatory compliance, and government bidding processes.
She has also advised on the establishment of a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) for the operation of a Certified Gulf Health Council medical testing centre in Nigeria, providing corporate, regulatory and transactional support to Nigerian and foreign parties involved in the arrangement. This experience has contributed to her understanding of transactions involving multiple stakeholders, regulatory requirements and cross-border commercial considerations.
Precious also has experience in intellectual property and data protection matters, including trademark registration, privacy-policy drafting and related corporate advisory work.
Her developing professional interests extend to Technology Law, Intellectual Property, Data Protection and legal issues arising from innovation and digital transformation. She maintains a strong commitment to continuous professional development and to remaining abreast of evolving legal, commercial, regulatory and technological developments.
She has undertaken professional training in areas including intellectual property, FIRS compliance and SCUML compliance, further complementing her transactional and regulatory practice.
